Now that we are stuck with COVID19 for the foreseeable future, couples have decided to venture down the elopement route to stick to government guidelines. Legally we are allowed to have 5 people at an elopement– the couple, a photographer, celebrant, wedding planner (if you’ve chosen a package we have created together) and one other person.
When two people get married most of us instantly imagine a full blown wedding – bride walking down the aisle surrounded by her friends and family watching on, the groom standing by with his best men awaiting his woman. And to top it all off a big feast afterwards to celebrate the day with everyone talking and laughing .
Not all couples imagine that for their wedding day.
The idea of having all those eyes on them might be incredibly daunting to some couples. The pressure to look impeccable and wow everyone with their well thought out vows might not be their idea of the perfect wedding. Instead, they would rather escape the crowds and completely immerse themselves in one another on the big day, not having to worry about what others are thinking and just enjoy each other.
Elopements are a wonderfully intimate experience for the couple who may not want to spend $10,000 + on their wedding, and would rather scale it down so it’s still a magical day but they are able to invest the money they have saved on a larger scale wedding on a honeymoon, mortgage or a big ticket item they’ve had their eyes on for the longest time.
Every couple will want to express their love for one another in a different and uniquely special way. It will all depend on your style, personalities and desires as to which type of ceremony you end up deciding on.
